FIFA Recruitment Privacy Notice
 
Introduction
Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), including its affiliated entities and subsidiaries worldwide (collectively, “FIFA”, “we”, “our”), is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard data you provide during the recruitment and application process for the roles across all FIFA entities, where such data identifies, describes, or is reasonably capable of being associated with you (“Personal Data”).
 
In this Notice, references to “you” or “your” refer to the applicant whose Personal Data is being provided, whether submitted directly by the applicant or on their behalf.
 
By submitting the application form, you confirm that:  
  1. You have lawfully obtained the Personal Data provided, and it is accurate and complete;  
  2. If you are submitting this application on behalf of another applicant, you are authorized to submit their Personal Data and have informed them of this Notice;   
  3. You, and any applicant on whose behalf you submit the application, consent to FIFA’s collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Data as described in this Notice; and
  4. You have read and agreed to this Notice.
 Please read this Notice carefully to understand how FIFA will collect, use, and disclose your Personal Data when you apply for this position. This platform may collect certain Personal Data through automated means such as cookies and similar technologies, to support functionality and enhance the user experience. For more information about the use of cookies on this platform, please refer to the Cookie Policy and for general data protection practices, refer to our Data Protection Portal.
 
For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, the controller of your Personal Data will be the relevant FIFA subsidiary or affiliate in your country. A consolidated list of FIFA subsidiaries is available in our latest Annual Report. If you would like to know the specific controller responsible for your data or have any questions about data protection, please contact our designated Data Protection Team at dataprotection@fifa.org. 
 
FIFA complies with applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to Switzerland’s Federal Act on Data Protection, the European Union and its member states’ data protection laws to which FIFA is subject, and any other laws applicable to FIFA’s operations (collectively, the “Applicable Data Protection Laws”).
 
This Notice may be made available in additional languages upon request or in accordance with local legal requirements.
 
Collection of Personal Data
FIFA collect(s) and processes certain categories of personal data in connection with your application, as necessary for recruitment purposes depending on your role and jurisdiction:
  1. Identifiers and demographic information, which may include full name, date of birth, gender, nationality;
  2. Contact details including email address, phone number, and current residency address;
  3. Identification documents (e.g., passport, national ID, driver’s license), including document number, issue and expiry dates, and a copy of the document, where required;
  4. Visa-related information, including visa status or supporting documentation, if applicable;
  5. Communication preferences (e.g., language or method of contact);
  6. Employment and professional information including resume or curriculum vitae (CV), cover letter, employment history, job title(s), employer references, salary expectations, job preferences, or any other information you provide to support the application and/or recruitment process;
  7. Education and training information including academic transcripts, diplomas, certifications, and degrees;
  8. Recruitment process information, such as interview notes, assessment results, and publicly available professional profile information (e.g., LinkedIn);
  9. Financial and administrative information necessary for payroll, tax, and employment purposes, such as bank account details and proof of address;
  10. Technical and Internet Data (if you visit our website, use mobile applications, platform, or other digital tools, we may collect information about your device, browsing activity, and interactions with pages or features. This may include data collected through cookies, session identifiers, or similar technologies used to support functionality, improve performance, and enhance user experience).

Collection of Sensitive Personal Data
FIFA may collect the following categories of sensitive Personal Data, as defined under Applicable Data Protection Laws, and only where relevant and necessary for recruitment purposes:
  1. Accessibility or disability information (for accommodation or special assistance);
  2. Racial or ethnic origin;
  3. Citizenship or citizenship status;
  4. Criminal history obtained through background checks conducted as part of the recruitment process;
  5. Health-related information voluntarily disclosed, such as medical conditions relevant to the role.
 
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
FIFA collects and processes your Personal Data in order to take steps, at your request, prior to potentially entering into a contract of employment with you. 
 
We may process your Personal Data to comply with legal obligations. Where applicable laws require consent for specific types of processing, we will obtain your consent before proceeding. We may use your Personal Data to improve our application and recruitment process, or to ensure through assessments that we are recruiting the best possible candidates, we do so on the basis of our legitimate interests.
 
How We Use Personal Data
FIFA may use Personal Data for the following purposes, as applicable: 
  1. Contacting you regarding your application and recruitment status;
  2. Reviewing and evaluating your application for specific job opportunities;
  3. Verifying the information you provide, including conducting reference and background checks, if you are offered a position;
  4. Facilitating recruitment processes, including organizing in-person or online assessments, meetings, travel, and accommodation when required;
  5. Making hiring decisions and preparing related documentation, such as employment contracts and onboarding materials, if you are hired;
  6. Managing general Human Resources administration, should your application result in employment;
  7. Complying with legal, regulatory, or corporate requirements, such as monitoring diversity and equal opportunity initiatives, as applicable; and
  8. Informing you of new job opportunities, subject to your consent to receive such communications.
FIFA will process and store the Personal Data securely only for as long as necessary to complete the recruitment process and to comply with applicable local legal requirements. In addition, you may delete your profile anytime.
 
If you are offered and accepted employment at FIFA, the information collected during the application and recruitment process will become part of your employment record and will be retained in accordance with our employee retention policy.
 
Use of Automated Screening Tools
FIFA may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, to assist with the screening and evaluation of candidate applications as applicable and permitted by law. If automated tools are used during your recruitment process, we will inform you accordingly. 
These tools analyze the information you provide, such as your application form, based on criteria established by our recruitment team. All final hiring decisions are made by human recruiters. 
Additionally, for certain recruitment cycles, we may use virtual assessment platforms, which incorporate AI functionality. If you prefer not to have your application reviewed with automated tools, contact our recruitment team to request an alternative assessment method. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Where automated tools are used, appropriate measures are taken to safeguard your rights and interests, including human oversight of decisions.
 
Sharing Personal Data with Third-Party Processors and Service Providers
FIFA may share Personal Data with the following types of third parties, as necessary, to support the recruitment process and for the purposes described above:
  1. Processors and service providers supporting recruitment activities, such as background checks, verification, assessments, technology platforms, and relocation services related to mobility and integration support;
  2. Relevant public (government) authorities, courts, law enforcement agencies, labor authorities and regulatory bodies, where such disclosure is required under applicable Data Protection Laws or any other applicable law, or is necessary for specific purposes such as visa processing, legal compliance, regulatory obligations, or security-related matters;
  3. Third Parties, when necessary to initiate, pursue, or defend legal proceedings, or when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required to protect individual safety or to comply with applicable laws governing FIFA.
We may share Personal Data with third parties performing services on our behalf, either where required by law or with your consent, as applicable.
When we do so, we ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and implement appropriate safeguards to protect your Personal Data.
  
Storage of Personal Data and International Transfers
Personal Data is stored and maintained in a database in Western Europe and is operated by FIFA or on its behalf. Some or all of the Personal Data may be stored or accessed from locations outside the country in which it was collected. Accordingly, Personal Data may be transferred or disclosed to third-party vendors and service providers located in countries where such vendors or service providers operate. These countries may include, without limitation, Western Europe, the United States, and other jurisdictions where our third-party vendors or affiliates operate.
 
Where cross-border transfers occur, FIFA will comply with all applicable data protection laws and take reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Data receives a level of protection consistent with that in the jurisdiction of origin. Such measures may include, for example, the use of standard contractual clauses, binding corporate rules, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction of residence, in accordance with Applicable Data Protection Laws, you may be entitled to exercise certain rights with respect to their Personal Data, subject to the conditions and limitations set forth by such laws. These rights may include, but are not limited to:   
  1. The right to be informed about the collection and use of your Personal Data;
  2. The right to access and obtain a copy of your Personal Data held by FIFA;
  3. The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data;
  4. The right to withdraw consent for processing where consent is the legal basis;
  5. The right to request deletion or erasure of your Personal Data, where permitted by law;
  6. The right to restrict (i.e. prevent) the processing of the Personal Data;
  7. The right to opt out of automated decision-making or profiling, where applicable; 
  8. The right to object to FIFA to certain types of processing, where applicable;  
  9. The right to receive their Personal Data in a portable format, where technically feasible; and
  10. The right to lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority or regulator.
We may need to ask you to provide information so that we can confirm your identity before responding to a request.

FIFA will use reasonable efforts to address and resolve any concerns or complaints raised by you in connection with the processing of your Personal Data.
You may also have the right, under applicable laws, to submit a complaint to a privacy or data protection regulator if you have concerns about how FIFA handles your Personal Data.

This Notice is effective as of  13 October 2025
and may be updated from time to time. We will publish an updated Notice on our website and indicate the new effective date in this section or notify you through other appropriate means. We will not use or share your Personal Data for materially different purposes than those described in this Notice without first taking reasonable steps to notify you and request your consent in accordance with the Applicable Data Protection Laws.
