Public Relations Manager Switzerland

FIFA is looking to recruit a Public Relations Manager Switzerland (50-80%)

 

 

The position is based at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich and works on all FIFA media relations/communication relating to public and society affairs in Switzerland. It is a newly created role, and the ideal candidate is a senior Media/Public Relations Professional/Journalist experienced in communicating and engaging with media.

 

She/he is a professional, who enjoys an excellent reputation and has an established network of media contacts in Switzerland. A trustworthy and self-confident individual with a strong presence, she/he can work independently with the flexibility to respond to ad-hoc crisis situations and issues.

 

With a high level of textual competence and strong communication skills and personal commitment, the Manager Public Relations will:

 

  • Handle and lead a proactive media outreach, develop, and strengthen the media partnerships and respond to media requests.
  • Foster awareness, understanding and support for FIFA’s activities and programs amongst its key publics.
  • Monitor online and print publications, social media, and broadcasts to ensure accuracy, taking prompt corrective actions when needed.

 

The Requirements

 

  • University degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Business, or related field.
  • Accomplished communications/media relations professional with experience in public information, media affairs and broad, public stakeholder engagement in Switzerland.
  • Strong writing skills, including writing for diverse audiences and formats.
  • A proven interest in and understanding of the current cultural, political, and societal climate and trending conversations of the day.
  • Success in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, international environment and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
  • An adaptable work style, open to collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A passion for sport and an understanding of the interest that FIFA as an organization sparks in the public, business community and the political environment.

  • Native German speaker, fluency in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in any of the other national languages is an asset.
