Cloud Architect

To support our People, Technology & Operations Division, FIFA is looking to recruit a customer service and results oriented person as a Cloud Architect


Your duties


  • Understand and interpret requirements 
  • Identify use or purpose, constraints, risks, etc. The architect contributes to the discovery and documentation of the non-functional requirements for business scenarios that are driving the solution  
  • Responsible for understanding technical requirements and embodies that requirements understanding in the architecture specification
  • Create and deliver mock-ups to present enabling solutions and technology to business and product teams in close collaboration with members of the architect department 
  • Create useful models and patterns 
  • Take the requirements and develop well-formulated reference architecture of the components of solutions in FIFA’s architecture repository, augmenting the models as FIFA best practices  
  • Responsible for the overall architecture integrity and maintaining the vision of the offering from an architectural perspective  
  • Provide and maintain these models as a framework for understanding the technical domain(s) of development work, guiding what should be done within the organization, or outside the organization 
  • Validate, refine, and expand the models and patterns 
  • Verify assumptions and bring in technical experts where required in order to improve the model and to further define it  
  • Assess the value of solution-enhancing developments emanating from field work and incorporate these into the architecture models as appropriate 
  • Manage the architecture lifecycle 
  • Continuously monitor the models and update them as necessary to show changes, additions, and alterations  
  • Represent architecture and issues during development and decision points of the program  
  • Be the "agent of change", representing that need for the implementation of the architecture
  • Create, update, review and publish architecture documents and artifacts to reflect existing architecture 
  • Incept new reference architecture and technology into product teams, solution and support
  • Drive the business case for change 
  • Foster the sharing of customer, architecture, and technical information between organizations
  • Exercise and deliver specific domain expertise 
  • Architecting and designing secure, robust, scalable cloud platforms to support delivery of FIFA’s Technology services 
  • Designing and delivering customer centric platforms ensuring compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure and services 
  • Develop cloud architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services


Our requirements


  • MA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
  • 15+ years overall Technology experience
  • 8+ years of proven work experience as an infrastructure and cloud architect (designing, architecting, integrating and managing complex infrastructure solutions, cloud migration strategies and cloud infrastructure adoption cycles)
  • Knowledge of AWS, Google and Azure cloud
  • Nice to have: certification in TOGAF or other specific cloud platform architecture, experience and/or certifications in Service Management and ITIL Framework, experience with Agile Architecture
  • Experience in the Sports event industry is an advantage
  • Fluent English and business fluency in at least a second language (French, Spanish or German, the latter being an advantage)
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
  • Conflict resolution skills are a must
  • Highly organised, responsible and trustworthy
  • Sharp analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
