We are looking for someone to lead and strengthen the team in charge of organising the biggest women’s sporting event in the world: the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™.

To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a local events team. Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women’s World Cup™, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.

Job responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Head of Services, the Senior Protocol & Guest Services Manager has the responsibility for the planning and successful implementation of a holistic guest service concept, driven by excellence and including seamless provision of event services (e.g. Travel, Transport, Accommodation, Hospitality) to all guests groups at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™


Job duties

Your role as Senior Protocol and Guest Services Manager includes the following responsibilities:

  • Assume overall responsibility for successful implementation of the following sub-projects: Guest Operations, Guest Relations, Protocol, Guest Experience and Hospitality, International and domestic relations
  • Collaborate with all relevant departments and sub-divisions within the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and FIFA Zurich, ensuring that appropriate conditions are provided together with relevant FIFA stakeholders, host associations, local authorities and third-party entities
  • Conduct mapping out of end to end VIP/VVIP guest journeys and define services implementation at different venues (including Stadium, VIP hotels, FIFA Venue Hotels and other relevant sites)
  • Collaborate and establish a fit for purpose and fully integrated event IT solutions for invitation management, guest communication and seat management
  • Establish policies and guidelines for guest management and protocol requirements of VIP/VVIP guests for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™and other dignitaries
  • Manage the administration and members of the Protocol & Guest Services team
  • Build clear line of communication and relationship with various stakeholders and involved parties
  • Integrate the requirements and regulations of all responsible sub-projects in the Master Project Plan and manage the detailed budget of the department
  • Set-up workload distribution to achieve the greatest efficiency; monitor progress to ensure adherence to the agreed timeline
  • To define a tournament workforce plan to successfully execute the operations
  • Oversee the day to day operations and aspects of projects/task and generate reports on the activities and project outcomes for higher level management reference
  • Attend site visits and (remote) inspections and prepare reports for FIFA Guest Operations team
  • Responsible for a successful transfer of knowledge and debriefing within the own area by following the set organisational guidelines


Qualifications & experience

You will have 10-15 years’ of on-the-filed event protocol and guest management experience including 6-8 years’ experience in planning and leading in a guest-related service environment.  Extensive Project Management experience and knowledge of its respective methodologies, planning and controlling tools. Experience within a world class sport/event organisation or a mega project is ideal.



This position requires a person with outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to accurately assess workloads, evaluate performance and motivate teams to deliver operational excellence. You will be a collaborator who is able to foster good working relationships with a high level of diplomacy. Advanced skills in MS Office, attention to detail, understanding of budgets and financial management, excellent organisational and planning skills are essential.  Time management and the ability to prioritize a varied workload  is an advantage.
