If you are a seasoned event or sports marketing professional interested in a once-in-a-lifetime job in the sports industry, this is your chance. We are looking for someone to lead and strengthen the team in charge of organising the biggest women’s sporting event in the world: the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia New Zealand 2023™.

To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a local events team. Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women’s World Cup™, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.

Head of Marketing Services Host Countries


Job responsibilities

As the Head of Marketing Services Host Countries, under the leadership of FIFA’s Marketing Director and the operational guidance of the Australia and New Zealand Chief Operations Officers, you will be in charge of the successful development and implementation of marketing programs at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officers in Australia and New Zealand and FIFA Marketing Director and relevant Heads of departments, you will play a critical role in managing and implementing a wide range of marketing initiatives at Host Country level planned around the event by both internal and external stakeholders.


Job duties

Your role as the Head of Marketing Services Host Countries includes the following responsibilities:

  • In close collaboration with FIFA’s Marketing department, the Head of Marketing Services Host Countries will design and conceptualise a successful marketing strategy in the host markets  
  • Create marketing planning, go-to-market strategy and roadmap for domestic activations in line with the overall tournament objectives
  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation plans in relation to the Tournament’s marketing strategy, as well as supporting our Marketing partners in their sponsorship activations in the Host Countries
  • Work closely with FIFA’s Marketing Partnerships department with a view to rolling out sponsor activations in a structured and effective way.  In that role, the Head of Marketing Services will act as central point of contact for Official Sponsors in the Host Countries
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of all Marketing rights in the Host Countries in an effective manner, in close collaboration with FIFA’s Marketing Rights Delivery team
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the Tournament’s brand marketing strategy across all initiatives and touchpoints
  • Promote FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ marketing and brand assets through impactful Marketing promotion plans with a view to increase equity and commercial value
  • Implement FIFA’s experiential marketing strategy in the Host Countries with a particular focus on establishing the FIFA Fan Festival and Host Country Trophy Tour as superior engagement and entertainment platforms
  • Support FIFA’s Digital Marketing team in creating engaging assets and content for global and local storytelling
  • Manage and support a talented team of individuals located at both HQs in Australia and New Zealand across all marketing projects.


Qualifications & experience

You should have a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in global sports marketing, with a proven record of accomplishment within international sports / rights holder environments. You will have solid operational and strategic marketing knowledge and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You must possess the legal entitlement to work in Australia.
